delayed flight2So, if you read the last post, you know we were both sick with the flu and I was also itching to death when we left Quito on Thursday morning. As we checked in for our afternoon flight, we were told there was a little mechanical problem with the plane, and since our flight would be delayed, they gave us vouchers for lunch.

Well, five hours later, at 7:30 pm, we finally boarded our flight to Miami. Of course, that put us arriving in Miami at 12:30 am Friday morning. A couple hours later, LAN had us checking into a hotel 40 minutes away, to sleep 3 hours before having to get a shuttle back to the airport for a 9 am flight. That was a rough, rough night for two sick people. 🙁

But, it wasn’t all bad. The cool thing was most of the passengers waiting airport witnessing2around those 7 hours were also convention delegates headed home. So we got to meet some new friends – and we all got opportunities to do informal witnessing – to the few passengers waiting that were not Witnesses. Haha. One enthusiastic older Spanish sister from Florida came up and handed me a tract – even though I had my convention badge on. She was giving them to everyone. I caught her witnessing to this girl, showing her the video.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESHere’s a couple we met from Jacksonville, Florida. He had been at Bethel over 30 years, and they’re now serving as special pioneers.

So, the wait wasn’t that bad. The flight was very nice. LAN was so comfortable; the food delicious, we even got free wine with dinner. Even the movie was good: aptly, it was The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. 🙂

We eventually made it home late Friday afternoon, and fell into our own wonderful cozy bed.
